In Texas, Washington State, and Minnesota, I will be the artist-in-focus for five different programs and concerts across the 2026-2027 season.
I am really honored to be joining communities across the United States for featured portrait concerts throughout the 2026-2027 season. Each of these five programs is completely unique. I am grateful to my collaborative partners for giving me the opportunity to tailor these programs with them to the communities they serve – and I'm really looking forward to traveling across the country to presents these different concerts.
In October 2026, I will be joining pianist Dr. Chelsea de Souza and the Asia Society of Texas for a bespoke program in Houston, Texas that unpacks musical and cultural identity. In many ways, our musical and life journeys are mirrors of one another. I look forward to presenting this with her and our partners in Houston.

Later in October 2026, we'll have the Let's Band Together festival in Minnesota, presented by the Minnesota Symphonic Winds, with several band works of mine on the program alongside two world premieres. I'm delighted to be presenting educational content at this festival, too. Thank you, Minnesota Symphonic Winds (conductors: Dr. Timothy Mahr and Mr. Paul Kile), for having me!

In December 2026, I will travel to Dallas, Texas to join the UT-Dallas Choirs and conductor Dr. Jonathan Palant for a wonderful program about confluences coming together through the spirit of peace. I will be there as composer and guest singer! I'm excited to work with these wonderfully talented students as well as Jonathan, who does so much to honor the various backgrounds and histories of his choir members.

In March 2027, I will be with The Esoterics (director: Dr. Eric Banks), the famed Seattle choir. We'll do an eclectic program of my compositions! I'll be on stage as singer as well as emcee, guiding the audience through the program. I can't wait!

Then, on April 25, 2027, I'll be in Lakeville, Minnesota for a special concert I've put together for the Lakeville Area Arts Center. It's going to be a really unique afternoon, with lots of world premieres! And I'm really excited to sing (and play piano!) with my fellow Minnesotan musicians. Here's our preview for you:
Music of Our Times:
Shruthi Rajasekar and friends present a program of brand new music, transforming ancient mythology, tales, and themes from the past into art reflective of our contemporary times.
I hope you'll be able to join us at one or more of these unique programs! I feel really lucky to be a part of so many communities this year – thank you for welcoming me with arms wide open.
And, for our international friends, please know that there is a special concert with the University of Warwick (in Coventry, UK) in the works – stay tuned!
Shruthi
