My works appear on two new albums that are releasing in August and September of this year. Both albums are from wonderful choirs based in the UK.
On Friday, August 22, 2025, the first commercial recording of my piece Light Eternal will be released by the University of Oxford's Somerville College Choir (who previously recorded my work "Star of Rohini" on their Christmas/holiday album). This work was commissioned and premiered by the ORA Singers, supported by Rt Hon. Patricia Hewitt, for their Cultural Bridges series.
In addition to the choir, Light Eternal has been recorded by world-renowned veena player (and, my guru and mother) Nirmala Rajasekar and the fantastic mridangam artist V. Srinivasan. They beautifully bring to life the ragas of Pantuvarali and Brindavana Saranga. This album also features the exciting composition "Coffee Kapi" by Nirmala Rajasekar.
Meanwhile, The Fourth Choir is releasing its much-anticipated debut album, which will feature the first commercial recording of my work I Am My Own. Commissioned and premiered by Seattle Pro Musica, I Am My Own uses the majestic writing of the three Brontë sisters to explore the relationship between individuals and community – in choirs and the world at large. The album, called "Songs of Ourselves," will release on September 19, 2025.
