let me float in the seas above

Flute and Alto Saxophone

Duration: 4-5 minutes

In a rejection of processing recent horrors, my mind has been visiting other lands. I float away— thoughts and ears muffled even as shocks ring through.

After titling the piece, I serendipitously encountered Maya Angelou's poem Woman Work:

"Storm, blow me from here

With your fiercest wind

Let me float across the sky

'Til I can rest again."
